I Am 40 And Had My Tubes Tied 9 Years

I am 40 and had my tubes tied 9 years ago. I don't know if it had anything to do with the pregnancy, tied tubes or hormonal. I get such heavy bleeding that on my second day I cant go out. I pass huge blood clots - it looks like liver. Anyway for last few months I have been battling with a dark brown stringy sticky almost discharge. It is really gross and it lasts for up to a week after my period. All the things I have read suggests it is nothing to worry about since it doesn't have an odour, but what are the warning signs to have it checked out without compromise
