I Am 43 And Just Had Our Third Child In

I am 43 and just had our third child in March. My bp has always been great, but with this last pregnancy it became high...180 / 119 at its highest. Medication was given after I gave birth. 25mg of hidrochlorathyazide and 300mg labetalol. The labetalol was dropped to 50mg and I was taken off the other once my bp got to 118/76. The last 3 days my bp has averaged 147/98. I called my doctor today who said to wait and monitor my bp. How long should I monitor it without concern? I haven't had any side affects as of yet.
