I Am 47 Years Old Soon 48 I Have Been

I am 47 years old soon 48 I have been menstruating heavily for 7 weeks now going on 8 but it has now slowed down. I have seen my doctor and waiting for an appointment with gynecologist could this be close to the end of my women hood or is there something to be alarmed about. NOTE: have been waiting for doctor to call for at least 2 months now and also will be waiting close to 4 months for to get appointment for ultra sound As for may have thyroid problem. Do I need to push for appointments aggressively or just wait patiently?
