I Am 48 And In Perimenopause. My Gynocologist Did A

I am 48 and in perimenopause. My gynocologist did a blood test recently and my FSH was 25.9. I was about six weeks late for my period when I had the blood test, and it was the first period missed. I was also complaining of hot flashes and low libido, so my doctor started me on hormones: Estrogen .625 mg with methyltestosterone 1.25 mg and medroxyprogesterone 2.5 mg. Two weeks after I saw my doctor, my period started. I also began taking the hormones on the second day of my period and never stopped bleeding/spotting. It has been exactly two weeks since I started bleeding and started taking HRT. It is light, sometimes pink, sometimes brown, but everyday. I went in for an ultrasound, and my doctor said the lining of my uterus is 10 cm. He suggested a D and C to make sure there are no polyps. Is the D and C necessary? Is the thickness of the lining normal? Is the bleeding related to the hormones or is it possibly something else? My doctor's answers to my questions did not satisfy me and I am seeking additional information.
