I Am 50 Years Old And Just Removed A "lost

I am 50 years old and just removed a "lost tampon" after five days. During the first day or two of inserting the "lost tampon" I had intercourse and probably used other tampons unknowingly. I just noticed spotting when I returned to the bathroom two hours after removing the "lost tampon". Is the spotting normal? Or am I still menstruating? Do I need to douche? Should I call my doctor for an appt?
