I Am 50 Years Old And Still Having Periods,they Were

I am 50 years old and still having periods,they were starting to get a little irregular and very light .but this month I had a light show for a couple of days last week,and this week I have had nearly a full week of a heavy period which is unusual as I never have a heavy period.i know I am of the age of the menopause so would this be typical of the symptoms.
