I Am 51 Years Old...female... Always Very Regular Periods... Until

I am 51 years old...female... always very regular periods... until this past year... every other month periods lasted about 2-3 weeks...I realize its perimenopause... My Dr. did a DnC , ablasion and something else to rid a polop (spell) im going into week four and continue to stain...more like a bloody discharge...red not brown...its what i consider a stain wipe ...called dr. she keeps saying it could take up to 6 weeks to see a result....dont understand ...the first week after i just had a light pinky stain ...i continue to wear a panty liner but im not at all hopeful this procedure worked...her statistics were 80 20 and im feeling like i fall into the 20 percent of it not working....i realize its probably my hormones ...but cant understand how my uterus was cleaned out and burned and im still bleeding....not a happy camper and its really bringing me down...i dont want a partial hysterectomy....would there be side effects of cancer at my age going on the pill?
