I Am 56 Years Old And Just Stop Taking Birth

I am 56 years old and just stop taking birth control pills. My general practitioner gave me some HRT pills to take. I haven't taken them yet because I am not sure I want to or need to. I am experiencing dizziness and nausea. Would this be because I stopped the birth control pills and am no longer putting hormones into my body?
