I Am 57 And Am 5'4 And Weigh 143 Pounds.

I am 57 and am 5'4 and weigh 143 pounds. I am on my second pacemaker defibrillator. Or ICD. My EP said my pacemaker has 1 year left and it is my second pacemaker. I am totally pacer dependant and my first pacemaker lasted 4 years and this one I have had for 5 years and my EP said the new ones could last up to 10 years. I have left heart failure, cardiomyopathy due from family inherit. I feel pretty healthy however my EF is 13%. I do have shortness of breath at times but am able to live a pretty normal life. I have more good days than bad. I am really nervous about having my pacemaker replaced as I know that infection rate increases and I'm wondering how many times can a person get their pacemaker changed out.
