I Am 57, When I Was 17 I Got Rushed

I am 57, when I was 17 i got rushed to the hospital with much pain, I couldn't straighten my body out. Th doctor told me that there was nothing wrong with me and that I had mental illness. I tink my dad threatened their life to find out what was wrong and they finally sgreed on exploratory surgery to find my appendix wrapped around my bowel choking me to death and ready to burst. Is that normal?
