Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 61 and in reasonable health. I spent the last two weekends spraying my basement doors and trims with a hvlp spray gun using latex paint. I used a simple dust mask (which I would take off after spraying but while the 'mist' was still in the air), but I have since developed a chesty dry cough. No blood or coloured phlegm being expelled, but I have almost constant irritation in my bronchial tubes. I had bronchitis many years ago. I realize now that I should have used a proper mask, but too little too late. Is this something that will pass (coughing has lasted over a week already), or should I get checked?
