I am 61 years old, male and I have had nystagmus all my life. I also have tinnitus, but I really don't remember when that started. Obviously, I have hearing loss as well. About a year and half ago, I developed a "floater" in my right eye. I call it a floater, but it is more like a film that moves around in my eye, often clouding my field of vision. I have seen my ophthalmologist who referred me to a retina specialist, and neither of them seemed to understand what I was describing, and gave me no indication that there was anything wrong, although this object in my eye is very annoying. Since the floater, I have been experiencing fatigue and muscle/joint pain with what I consider to be light activity. I have never been athletic, but I have always been active, and can't seem to accomplish much these days without being completely worn out. About the same time period as the "floater" I was put on blood pressure meds, which I take as directed. However, prior to switching to the doctor who put me on this prescription, I had always been told by Doctors' offices, blood donation centers, etc that my blood pressure "was very good." I guess this could all be part of the aging process, but I want to make sure that there is nothing more serious going on, and I can't seem to get any medical professional to listen my symptoms. Do you think I'm simply "getting old?"
