I Am 66 Years Old And For The Past 3-4

I am 66 years old and for the past 3-4 months I have one breast which is slightly swollen and sore to touch. Even putting on a T-Shirt and pulling it over my left breast area causes discomfort. At 66 what be causing this? I can feel a small 2.5cm nodule under the skin there.
