Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 68. Had malignant melanoma 10 years ago and OK. I have inherited Hemochromatosis and OK there, too, with only one or two therapeutic phlebotomies per year now.
My PSA has increased from 2.86 in 2013 to last Jan 2015 at 4.26. He said it was due to age but recommended a urologist. PSA in April was 4.50. We ran another lab for Free PSA and it is 0.57ng/ml and PSA Serum is 4.5ng/ml. His suggestion is to have the new Pro PSA but said that doesn't necessarily tell much so I am confused. He spoke of an in office biopsy or a biopsy of sedating me for 15 minutes in a hospital setting. I'd like to avoid either.
I understand my taking Atorvastatin (Lipitor) could be the cause. I am, otherwise healthy, exercise every day and a financial advisor, divorced, play golf and active but have ED.
