I Am 68 Yrs Old And Have Not Had Intercourse

I am 68 yrs old and have not had intercourse for 2 yrs, and when I when I finally did I bleed. What would have been the cause of this. It did not last long but I was sore. Was this caused by just not have sex for so long. I am not afraid to have sex again.
