I Am 69. I Am Retired And Not Worked For

I am 69. I am retired and not worked for 11 years. I am a home body, I walk when I can. I broke my left calf area and ankle in 2001, at the same time. It is hard for to walk long distance. I had 3' of bowel taken out. I had back surgery on the lower 3-4, was fused.
The problem I have is: I am gaining a lot of weight around my stomach and in my arms biceps and forearms.
I am noticing a lot more fatty tissue lumps under the skin on my arms. Some of the doctors say, it is just old age and except it, the lumps are growing in size. I noticed that the lumps are also on my legs and back of my neck. the lumps are under the skin. they are quite large.
