I Am 72 Year Old Female With Type 2 Diabetics.

I am 72 year old female with Type 2 diabetics. My A1C has been steadily climbing in spite of lifestyle changes. I am very active, but my A1C was 7.3 recently. What medication would you advise that might include weight loss? I cannot take glucaphage as it causes severe diarrhea.
