I Am 73 Years Old (female) And Have Had A

I am 73 years old (female) and have had a problem with constipation all my life. Recently I went about 3 weeks without any movements and eventually had to take a laxative. Since that time (6 wks) I am extremely constipated and have to really strain to have a movement at all. My stools are very small and I never feel like I really had much luck. Could this be a blockage?
Thank you
