Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 32 yr old male and the inside of my butt is always red. At the top of the anal crevice there is a red line which the doctor (just today) diagnosed as a possible yeast infection. I have had this off and on for about two years. The doctor prescribed OTC cloratimazole (spelling?) cream applied twice daily for two weeks. He also recommended taking Vitamin D supplements. I was also going to take probiotics as well. I am also suffering from a sinus infection and was just prescribed Keflex as well (same visit). He informed me that if this doesn't work that it would be time to take an oral anti-yeast medication. I'm going to work on cutting out sugars as well. Any thoughts on any of this? Is there anything else I can do. It's really making me depressed. I shower at least twice a day and use perianeal wipes for hygiene.
