I Am A 38 Yo Wf Who Had A Hysterectomy

I am a 38 yo wf who had a hysterectomy 2 years ago (still have ovaries). Over the past several weeks, I've had both Uti-type pain, alternating with and sometimes concurrent with vaginal itching/irritation/pain. Urinalysis has come back negative for bacteria. Urinary symptoms aren't as much the frequency/urgency (I've not urinated more than 4 to 5 times any given day) as much as burning/discomfort following urination.

I have two aunts who had early onset menopause (both in their 30s). My gynecologist provided me with samples of estrace vaginal cream to try to see if it alleviated symptoms. But, she also referred me to urologist to determine if I may have interstitial cystitis. I do have appt with one, but it's not for a few weeks. And, I am becoming increasingly stressed out/panicked at info I'm reading online about the condition. I realize, of course, you cannot diagnose via Internet. But, I'd appreciate any professional insight/opinion you may have.

Do patients with IC all have the urinary frequency? In other words, should I not worry as much about being diagnosed with it if I'm not running to the restroom so many times per day? And, if there's not a method for definitive diagnosis, is there at least a probable one? I just hate the idea of daily drug treatment and a 3-page list of dietary restrictions without being semi-sure of what I have.

I appreciate your time and help with this.
