I Am A 43 Year Old Female Who Over The

I am a 43 year old female who over the past 12 months have been having reoccurring uti`s (atleast 4) recently i went to the walk in with symptoms again. Frequency urination , painful urination, and urgency and somtimes nothing comes out. My bladder often hurts when full. I also have a feeling of pressure in my pelvic area. I am also experiencing dull aches in my lower right side both front and in my back (close to my hip area) I was sent home with cipro and my urine sample was sent for a culture because they were unable to confirm uti with the normal strip test. Today i received a call and they informed me that the result was negative. I have made an appointment with a urologist but cannot be seen until next month but I am extremely uncomfortable and worried. Should I go to the emergency room? Can they give me something for the discomfort? Also my father has bladder cancer. And I do smoke. Could I also have it?
