I Am A 44 Year Old Male, With Not Past

I am a 44 year old male, with not past medical history. I have been dating a woman for 5 years. About a year after I started dating her I had herpes outbreak on the right side of my buttocks and my right inguinal lymph node was swollen (could be herpes simplex, could be herpes zoster). So I asked her if she has ever had any STDs, she said she was told in college that she had herpes cause she had a rash on her leg. My outbreak re-accures about ever 6 months when I get stressed and tired. Do you think it is herpes simplex or herpes zoster (shingles)? Can I get tested to know the difference?
