I Am A 50 Yo Female With Neurofibromatosis Type 2.

I am a 50 yo female with Neurofibromatosis type 2. I recently developed a 30% loss of hearing in my left ear. My ENT started me on Prednisone 30 mg daily for 10 days, thinking the SNHL might be from a viral infection I had in the past. I am not having any other symptoms. I have worn ear plug recently for about 2 months in the left ear. My ENT will order an MRI if no improvement on the Prednisone. I have been on the medication x 6 days. No real improvement yet. What are the chances this could be an acoustic neuroma? I am a registered nurse. Thank you.
