I Am A 51 Yr Old Female. I Have Not

I am a 51 yr old female. I have not had periods for a year and 1/2. Occasionally during my life with periods, the cord the runs down the inside of the pelvis would get swollen. I had been told that it had something to do with the ovaries. It would rotate to a different side every month. For the last 2 days, my left side has been really swollen, and tender. But it is not entirely on that cord that it usually is. Do I just have to wait for the swelling to go down?
