I Am A 53 Year Old Woman. I Started Having

I am a 53 year old woman. I started having a lot of discomfort and pain two years ago. After many trips to doctors and pages of labs, even a PET scan, I was diagnosed with Mesenteric Panniculitis. I am being told the treatment is steroids and other strong drugs that I don't like the sideaffects of. ( and no guarantee they will work) I can not find out a lot about the disease or where I should go from here? My GI is telling me it's really not a GI problem.
