I Am A 59 Year Old Female With Type 2

I am a 59 year old female with type 2 diabetes. Weight is 145. i have been having severe chills in the evening, but no fever. I experience severe sweating at night and daily headaches, and tonight began having sharp, severe pain in my lower back. My bg has been running from 145 to 217 over the past 24 hours. My doctor says I am fine. I take 500 mg metformin 2x daily. What can I do to alleviate these symptoms?
