Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 60 yr old male who in the past was taking 20 milligram a day of citalopram. I've been off it for a year. For the past month or so I've been feeling a bit depressed and was going to tell my doctor on my next visit. After dinner the other night I took one of my citalopram pills and in the middle of the night I woke up with sweats, feelings of pins and needles, I was shaking, and sick to my stomach. I tried to go to work and ended up feeling being so emotionally drained because I didn't know what was happening to me. I rushed to my doctor And he prescribed lexapro. I took one last night and slept fairly well however today I had a few spell is of tingly feeling especially after I ate something. I don't know what is wrong with me and it's making me very anxious. Could it be food poisoning? Could this be a panic attack that is lasting more than a day? It is almost like my wife when she went through menopause. Please help.
