Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 61 year old male who is otherwise healthy. I fell striking my back on a step last November and have had some recurrent pain in my right back and down my leg particularly when I put weight on my leg. The doctor ordered both a cervical and lumbar as well as right shoulder because occasional pain radiating from neck. The MRI's showed two herniated disks and shoulder tear in cervical area but the lumbar MRI showed abnormal bone marrow. My calcium level taken in an April blood test was 11.2. The doctor followed up later and it was still high although I do uotknow the reading. He sent me for a thyroid scan and it was negative. He told me he also did two other blood tests I think for leukemia and multiple myeloma and they were normal. Also he said a blood test that is normally low if the calcium is high was actually high. Finally my last PSA was last year about this time and it was in the 1.70 range which is where it had been for years. He did not do one this year.
