I Am A 71 Year Old Male. For The Last

I am a 71 year old male. for the last 6 weeks I have notice an area of bright red along the side of the cap of my penis and one line approx. 1/4 inch wide going from the side toward the top. I was hoping it would go away and was blaming it on the prednisone eye drops on was on after surgery almost 6weeks ago. I stopped the prednisone four days ago. Am embarrassed to go to my doctor. I have not engaged in intercourse of any kind for a good 10 years. thank you
