I Am A 74 To Female Seeking Information Regarding Knee

I am a 74 to female seeking information regarding knee pain . It has become increasingly difficult to sleep/turn over in bed,rise from seated position. I am aware of an arthritic component. I am hesitant to go to an orthopedic Dr at the present time,I recognize O am a surgical candidate,however 50+ years ago I had a mastectomy on that leg and am aware of complications with a total knee. My question concerns other less severe treatments available to me. I thought of an arthroscopic removal of the degenerative spurs etc.
