I Am A 74 Y/o Woman With An Earache, And

I am a 74 y/o woman with an earache, and was prescribed Amoxicillin (500 mg 3 X a day) the night before last.
Took 2 Aleve which should last 12 hours about 10 hours ago, and ear is painful again. May I take Ibuprofen or some other OTC pain medication on top of of the Aleve now?
