I Am A Female - 58 Years Of Age. For

I am a female - 58 years of age. For a few years I have been treated for PMR. I started at 25mg. of prednisone. It worked in just 48 hours and I was a new person. I got down to 5mg. and symptoms came back with a vengeance. Started all over again and slowly, very slowly decreased the dosage. In May of this year I woke one morning with double vision. I was down to 4mg. and was feeling very good so I was very nervous and scared. I had a slight headache on one side but after the bouts of double vision I was left with a hazy halo in my peripheral vision. I called an eye doctor and during the visit she contacted my rheumatologist. Blood worked showed inflammation was high and they were concerned that I may have GCA. I was put on 60mg. of prednisone. In about a week double vision almost stopped and so did the hazy vision. No headaches. On July 3rd I was sitting with family and went to speak and could not form words. I excused myself and laid down. On July 4th I was on the phone and it happened again. My husband took me to the hospital. I was in the hospital for three days - all tests came back negative for a TIA. I was feeling pretty good and I am presently on 5mg. Yesterday I blew leaves for four hours. I was really exhausted and I was very sore today as anyone would normally be after a day of yard work. This afternoon I had a horrible episode at work. I had humming in both ears, pain in one temple, double vision, extremely dizzy, could not walk, nausea, and excessive sweating. It lasted about an hour and my co-worker took me home. I'm fine now. I'm also done! I see a doctor regulating, I've seen a neuro ophtalmologist, I never miss an appointment with the rheumatologist, I get blood tests by the dozens... This has to end and I can't stay on prednisone (or go up to 60mg. again) forever. Please, what would you recommend, or who would you recommend me to see. Thank you.
