I Am A Male 88 Yrs Old, With Diabetes2,and Some

I am a male 88 yrs old, with diabetes2,and some arthritis, in general good health. Last night when I went to bed my face turned deep red and was very hot. I put an ice compress and that helped somehow. This morning I am feeling well and not a trace of redness in my face. What could it be?
I take Crestor, Metformin, and pills for highblood pressure.
