I Am A Seventy Year Old Retired Nurse With Acute

I am a seventy year old retired nurse with acute back. Problem and nerve damage. Howeve I cannot tolerate strong pain medication and try to rely on exercise and Panadol Osteo! However when I have a flare up of acute pain my doctor has prescribed Prednisalone 25mg as directed. My Question is ,at my age would it be harmful to take one tablet a day as it keeps me mobile and painfree
