I Am A Veterinarian Who Was Diagnosed With A Fibroma

I am a veterinarian who was diagnosed with a fibroma 9 years ago. I'm 46 years old and just visited my gynecologist today to get the results of a uterine scraping to see whether or not to have an ovariohysterectomy performed. (I also have a cystic ovary.) Due to my job, I do not believe that I can take off 3-4 weeks from work just because my uterus is larger than normal. (I can feel the fibroid myself and it feels like a small grapefruit.) I am the owner of my business and am the only doctor. I just don't know what to do. I am supposed to see him again in 2 weeks where he will discuss this in more detail; today, he was rechecking me due to my having to have a polyp removed that was blocking the entrance to the uterus so he was unable to get a scraping of the uterus. (The results came back normal.) The main reason I had gone in initially was because I had become urinary incontinent at times and was unable to bend fully to pick things off the ground within the past year. Also, I am also a high risk patient. I had a drug reaction to SoluMedrol this year (January) and am still suffering from dry eye (the initial symptoms were chest pains that felt like I was having a heart attack but the cardiologist said I did not have a heart condition), a seizure disorder that seemed to have resolved after I had meningitis 9 years ago after a dog bite that went untreated, and allergies that are unpredictable at times. I also have asthma that acts up periodically. I really feel that I should not have this surgery but cannot find information on the procedure in humans. If I could work, I would have the surgery but I'm more concerned about my practice and my patients than I am about my personal medical condition that is not really bothering me at this time.
