I Am Age 87 (in JUNE) My Dr. Is Recommending

I am age 87 (in JUNE) My dr. is recommending a blood transfusion for a low blood count.I started taking a total of 260 mgs of an over the counter iron supplement daily. My bp is ok with medication. had a AAA procedure about 8 months and a CT shows the stent working fine. I suffer very little fatigue. For a male my age I believe I function well. Blood transfusion? Any advice. Thank you for any help.
