I Am Almost 96, Very Healthy, Take No Meds Except

I am almost 96, very healthy, take no meds except thyroid supplement. My shingles showed up a week ago. Saw a Dr. today got started on the pills and have pain pills also. Mine are on the right shoulder down the arm to the wrist. I thought it was a mild case, but today they are really showing up and itch. I have Capsasin cream for them. I am tolerating them well, but want them to go away fast. What else can I do? I liv e alone, do everything for myself, no cane nor walker, very fortunate.
