Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am asking for an 86 year old male friend. He just came from his own doctor who would like him to go on flomax because he has somewhat of a slow urine stream and goes about every two hours. He has no pain and is very active for his age (works on cars , mows his own lawn). He does drink a fair amount of liquid by choice. Vitals are normal including blood work. He would like to stay away from prescription drugs as long as possible. He is really risking a health problem if he doesn't go on flomax until he has more symtons i.e. infection. Thanks for any input. His primary care dr is a nephrologist.
