I Am Currently Coming Off Diazepam Which Was Used To

I am currently coming off diazepam which was used to get me off 18 year use of Alprazolam. The withdrawal process took place over 28 days. I am currently on 10 mgms of diazepam per day and experiencing excrutiating symptoms. I don't know if the symptoms are from generalised anxiety or withdrawal from benzodiazepam. I would like to know if it possible or helpful to transfer slowly onto Lexapro, and what side effects I might experience. The symptoms are generalised pins and needles in all parts of my body, rapid body temperature changes, sensitivity and pain in hands and feet, bloating and pins and needles in abdomen, sensory overload.
