I Am Currently On The Mirena IUD And I Love

I am currently on the Mirena IUD and I love it but I have put on a considerable amount of weight which my spouse is complaining about. I am finished with having children and he wants me to get the IUD removed and wear condoms but I am totally against this. Should I consider getting my tubes tied? I really don't want to go under the knife but to definitely don't want any more children.
