I Am Currently Taking Methylphenidate Er 54 Mg Once A

I am currently taking methylphenidate er 54 mg once a day. But i still find that I run out of energy later in the day. Is it ok to cut it in half and take 1/2 a tablet? Once I took a second in the early afternoon and was able to continue working on things I tend to procrastinate. I haven't mentioned it to my psychiatrist yet.
