I Am Currently Taking Synthroid For My Thyroid And Noticed

I am currently taking synthroid for my thyroid and noticed today some swelling in my thyroid gland that wasn't there yesterday. I am in the beginning stages of a cold and was thinking maybe it was because of that... Anyway... Is there anything I can do to stop the swelling at home before I get in to a doctor?
