I Am Experiencing Pain In My Right Wrist. It Seems

I am experiencing pain in my right wrist. It seems to be more outer wrist area. There are times when I am holding something and my wrist just gives out. Yesterday every time I moved by arm/wrist I hear a cracking sound. Could this be carpel tunnel syndrome or something else?
