I Am Experiencing Pain In The First And Second Joints

I am experiencing pain in the first and second joints of my right thumb. The first joint is quite stiff and will sometimes pop out of joint when I try to bend it. It is becoming increasingly difficult to bend and to perform basic tasks such as writing and twisting bottle caps. What type of specialist should I see or what type of medicine or exercise is indicated?
