I Am Experiencing Severe Sore Throat. Very Red But No

I am experiencing severe sore throat. Very red but no white spots. I have a bad cough. It hurts and burns my chest each time I cough. I can't sleep without coughing. I can hardly swallow. I am running a low grade temp. between 99-100+. I began an antibiotic this morning but not relief. Should I go back to the doctor?
