I Am Having A Breakout Of Something On My Backside.

I am having a breakout of something on my backside. They are very sore and when it starts, there can be 9-10 spots. I thought they were boils or carbuncles, but according to the descriptions here, maybe not. They get about the size of a nickel, hard, red swollen, very sore, but no seeping or yellow head on them. I have found that a combination of essential oil helps the pain and healing. What do you think they are?
