I Am Having Cataract Surgery In My Left Eye Soon.

I am having cataract surgery in my left eye soon. I will be getting a mono focal lens, because that is what my insurance company will cover, and I am paying for a Toric lens to correct my astigmatism. The eye doctor has no immediate plans to correct the cataracts in my right eye. My eye doctor has asked me if I want to be near or far sighted post-surgery. How do I decide? I have been near-sighted since I was a young child.
