I Am Having Exacerbation Of Asthma, There Is A Lapse

I am having exacerbation of asthma, there is a lapse every 3 months. The medicines are defcort omnicortil,itrafaze..why a relapse is happening.the medicines donr work for 2weeks..the progress is seen only in the 3rd week.this time i have taken only for 5days. Pls suggest should i continue?
