I Am Having Lots Of Pain On My Upper Back

I am having lots of pain on my upper back close to my neck. In the winter the pain is unbearable. I have on my left side lots of pain is a constant heat. I take muscle relaxer and napersen. I dont know if I am spelling it right. But when I get so much pain. I put on a heating pad for 15 minutes. It feels better but the pain is still there. What kind I do. I can not take this anymore.
