I Am Having Numbness In The Left Side Of My

I am having numbness in the left side of my neck..When I turn my head sometimes it feels almost like I'm being shocked..Its a very weird feeling and now its getting painful...I have been sleeping on the couch lately so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with how bad my neck feels and how weird that feels when I turn a certain way...Its like my neck is going to sleep on that side...This just started about a week ago..What could be the problem??
